As part of bp’s net zero strategy, they wanted to make it easy for customers to offset their carbon emissions. But too many people didn’t understand carbon offsetting or didn’t know where to start.

We developed a series of web application that let customers calculate their carbon emissions, choose an accredited offsetting project, and complete the transaction. All in one user-friendly platform.

Know your carbon footprint

We developed the name Know Your Carbon Footprint to signal this was a platform for offsetting beginners. A mural design promoted the everyday steps people could take to reduce their footprint before they offset.

To make the platform accessible to the widest possible audience, we used simple UX copy to support every user’s journey.

At ‘One Young World’, an international sustainability summit, delegates could complete their digital journey by making a photo pledge and sharing it directly to their social channels.

A separate user journey allowed customers to focus purely on their vehicle emissions and offset directly within the web app.
